Surgery
The OB/Gyn surgical team at OmniHealth performs procedures involving the female reproductive system. The surgeons and nursing staff have extensive experience in the treatment of many common female disorders: menstrual irregularities, endometriosis, fibroids, urinary incontinence, infertility, and pelvic pain.
The following are a few examples of operations that our surgeons perform:
- Hysterectomy: Surgical removal of a woman’s uterus (may or may not include removal of fallopian tubes and ovaries). This can be done abdominally, vaginally, or laparoscopically.
- Tubal ligation: A procedure that blocks the fallopian tubes to prevent pregnancy.
- Prolapse Procedures: To help manage herniation (bulging) of the bladder, uterus, or rectum into the vagina.
- Laparoscopy: Use of a scope to look throught the umbilicus (belly button) at the pelvic organs (Uterus, ovaries and fallopian tubes).
- Hysteroscopy: Use of a scope to look inside the uterus for polyps, fibroids, sources of bleeding and for tubal ligation.
- Cystoscopy: Use of a scope to look inside the bladder for causes of incontinence (leaking), difficulty emptying bladder and prolapse.
