Birth Control
Birth control can be used to prevent pregnancy and to plan the correct timing of children. It is also referred to as contraception.
Two main categories of Family Planning exist: Reversible and Permanent. When reversible forms are stopped, you wil be able to become pregnant. Permanent Birth Control means that you will not be able to achieve pregnancy again without surgical intervention.
Reversibile forms include:
(1) Birth Control Pills
(2) Contraceptive injection (Depoprovera)
(3) Vaginal Rings (NuvaRing)
(4) Contraceptive Patch (OrthoEvra)
(5) Barrier Methods (Condoms, Diaphragm)
(6) IUD or IUS (Intrauterine Devices or Systems) (Mirena or Paraguard)
(7) Contraceptive Implants (Implanon)
Permanent forms include:
(1) Hysteroscopic tubal occlusion (Essure)
(2) Tubal ligation (Laparoscopic or Post Partum)
(3) Vasectomy
